Thanks, Jodi Eichelberger and Surel’s Place for providing a prime location for us to promote the mural at First Friday.
The attached image is a glimpse of the excellent job that Theresa and Sandy did in engaging First Friday visitors.
Look closely and you will see a foam board showing the work of Mosaic_Essentials‘ Reham Aarti. She is an amazing mosaic artist, donating her time and talent to shepherd this project.
Next to the foam board is a flyer created by Waterfront District – Garden City artist and board member, Emily M. It provides an excellent written and visual summary of the purpose of the mural project and can be found here
One of the takeaways from First Friday and last night’s Surel’s Place gala is that several people we talked to didn’t realize this project is NOT HOA-funded. Funding is through voluntary donations.
Working with Surel’s Place allows us to accept money from beyond the Waterfront District HOA borders. In fact, our Friday night fun resulted in at least one donation from someone who lives on the Boise Bench.
The funding is secondary to the real purpose of the project as Emily expressed so well on the flyer:
“This is an opportunity for our community of artists to contribute their talent, time, treasure, and labor to help improve the Greenbelt.”
