Open Country will start construction on the fiber network this Wednesday, September 30th, 2026. They aim to complete the boring process this week. This will give them a buffer in case they run into hidden obstacles (they are drilling under the earth, after all).
Their plan, as shown on the map:
- Wednesday, September 30th – Complete the area in red, which includes the Live-Work-Create, and part of the Interiors. Note: The single-family homes on Willow Bar and the Westerlies on Thurman Mill already have conduit, so they won’t be boring in that area.
- Thursday, October 1st – They will bore the areas in Green. Note: Waterpark and Villas homeowners, this may impact your respective parking lots.
- Friday, October 2nd – The area in purple, which includes the rest of the Interiors and the rest of the Westerlies, as well as tying into the Watergardens, will be in the grand finale. Note: The map should not have the purple build on day 3 extending to Waterhouse Row.
Open Country has scheduled 2 more days for finishing remaining tasks and cleaning up. Some or all of the ground level boxes on our private roads containing the existing fiber conduits will need to be replaced. That can be done with shovels, so if things go well, the heavy equipment will be here for only a few days. Stay tuned, after this phase we will get to the fun part where they thread the fiber through the ducts.
