Connecting to the Feeder

Yesterday the sidewalk squares that were damaged during boring for the underground fiber conduits were replaced.

Construction site with caution tape and traffic cones blocking a sidewalk near colorful residential buildings.

Next week Open Country will bring back the boring machine for 2 more shots that are shown as the yellow lines in the (fuzzy) picture below. This is the traffic circle by Luciano’s.

Aerial map showing a circular road with labeled coordinates and directional annotations for construction or utility work. Includes 'Feed Conduit Meet Point' and two bore lengths indicated: 132' and 255'.

They will also walk the neighborhood to fix any items that were damaged. Some problems have already been reported, but if there is something not yet noted, please send an email to, damages_boise@opcountry.com.

After that, the individual fiber lines will be spliced together and the network “lit up.” Then, for those who want to try Fatbeam as their internet service provider, their house will be connected to the fiber backbone.

You can receive discounts by signing up early, but it must be done through Fatbeam’s account executive, Vas Balan, vas.balan@fatbeam.com. They have discounts for seniors and veterans, 2Gbps for the price of 1Gbps, etc. Send Vas an email and ask him for his best deal at the speed that you want.

If you are not sure of the speed that you need, try their slowest speed of 250Mbps. If it is not sufficient for your needs, you can upgrade to 500Mbps at any time.
